Description

Pine Creek Grist Mill was built in 1848 by Benjamin Nye, Muscatine County's first settler. The Mill is located in Wldcat den State Park, along the banks of Pine Creek and 1/2 mile from the Mississippi. It seems to be one of the 2 oldest working grist mills between the Mississippi and the Rockies (still on its original site).

General Information

The Pine Creek Girst Mill has been restored to demonstration condition. It is open to the public during warm months. May: Sat & Sun 12:30-4:30. June-Aug: Wed-Sun 12:30-4:30. Sept-mid Oct: Sat & Sun 12:30-4:30. There is no admission fee, but donations appreciated.
